Choreographer’s Association
The Israeli Choreographers Association was founded in 1998, by a number of independent choreographers sharing the same goal of exposing and promoting their personal work. All choreographers desire to expand the audience of dance lovers in Israel, and to have their works reach all of Israel, this through collaborations and special projects. Together with this diverse ongoing local creation, the artists also work continuously to achieve international exposure. The Association is now proud to include among its members most of the independent dance artists working in Israel. The dozens of artists making up the Association have rich professional experience in the art of dance, and all manage companies or create new projects every year. When an artist joins the Association, he receives all the different services, and manages all of his dance activities in Israel and abroad through the Association's account. In addition, the Association provides various administrative services, such as accounting, legal consultation, insurance, studio room subsidies, press advertising and public relations. Furthermore, the Association coordinates information from external and internal sources, and assists in all matters related to filing financial assistance applications and implementing budgets. Every year, the Association is joined by more and more choreographers whose activities are established, who meet the criteria formed by the Association, and who desire to advance in the scope of their activities in terms of art and budget. The Israeli Choreographers Association is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports – Administration of Culture – Department of Dance, and by the Tel-Aviv municipality. Other supports of the artists are the Israel Lottery Council for Culture & Arts and public and private foundations. Encouraging original quality artistic creation and peaceful artistic lives; expressing the spirit of the place; holding an up-to-date mirror up to dance – these are the values guiding the Association's work.
