Back Nur Garabli

Nur Garabli was born and educated in Ajami, Jaffa. She grew up with her mother Eman, her twin sister Yara and her grandmother Layla – three generations of Palestinian women sharing the same piece of land.

Garabli has a B.Ed. in dance and education from the School of Dance Arts, Kibbutzim College. She is the co-founder of the Taboo Group, a Palestinian women’s collective focusing on art and activism in the public space. She is also involved in the “Moving Together” project, together with the choreographer and dancer, Yasmeen Godder at her dance company studio in Jaffa, where she teaches Palestinian dabke & brings together women of all ages, communities, and cultures. Garabli has curated and functioned as the artistic director of the “Moving Together” festival in March 2022 together with Godder; she continues working to promote local art and culture within the Arab community. Nowadays Garabli works as a freelance artist, dancer and choreographer. She practices contemporary Palestinian dabke and brings to this practice social, political, on-stage and off-stage expressions.

Nur has participated in 123 Program for young choreographers at the Suzanne Dellal centre and these days she is performing & touring is PLS/IL with her works SeventyThree ⁽²⁰²¹⁾ HaKovshim X Allenby ⁽²⁰²¹⁾ CHÉ ⁽²⁰²²⁾

 

ُولدت نور غرابلة وتربّت في حيّ العجمي في يافا. نشأت مع والدتها إيمان، شقيقتها التوأم يارا وجّدتها ليلى، ثلاثة أجيال من النساء الفلسطينيّات اللواتي يتقاسمَن نفس قطعة الأرض. غرابلة حاصلة على اللقب الأ ّول في الرقص من كليّة فنون الرقص في سمينار هكيبوتسيم. مؤّسسة شريكة في مجموعة “تابو”، مجموعة نسائيّة فلسطينيّة نشطة في مجال الفنون والنشاطيّة في الحيّز العام. وهي شريكة أيًضا في مشروع “נעות مع بعض” مع ياسمين جودر في استوديو فرقتها في يافا، حيث تدّرس هناك الدبكة الفلسطينيّة المعاصرة وتساهم في اللقاء بين النساء من مختلف الأعمار، الديانات والثقافات. كانت غرابلة أمينة ومديرة لمهرجان “נעות مع بعض” في شهر مارس 2022 مع جودر وهي مستمّرة في العمل من أجل تطوير وتعزيز الفنون والثقافة المحليّة في المجتمع العربي. تعمل غرابلة اليوم كراقصة، معلّمة ومصّممة رقص مستقلّة. تبحث وتتد ّرب على الدبكة الفلسطينيّة المعاصرة، وتضيف إلى هذا السياق بصمة اجتماعيّة، سياسيّة، مسرحيّة وغير مسرحيّة. شاركت في مشروع 123 للمبدعين الجدد في مركز سوزان دلال، وفي هذه الأيّام تق ّدم بشكل دائم عملها “هكوفشيم تفرع اللنبي” في مسرح تموناع، من إخراج نيطع ميدان وشاكيد شنلر.
