A week-long exploration of Yasmeen Godder’s unique repertoire and practices.
Choreographer and dancer Yasmeen Godder, together with Ofir Yannai—a key collaborator over the past four years—will lead this workshop, offering participants a close encounter with Godder’s work.
Each day will begin with a technique class, focusing on anatomical awareness and the use of weight, grounding, and freedom in the body’s movement through space. From there, the workshop will expand into physical and emotional materials drawn from Godder’s 30 years of repertoire, with a particular focus on Shout Aloud (2024).
Working with these materials, participants will be invited to develop their own perspectives, personal expression, and unique interpretations. A range of choreographic and improvisational scores will be introduced, allowing participants to engage, transform, and play with the material, while also creating time and space to structure their own versions.
